Obituary for Melvy Urene "Melverts" Harewood
Melvy Urene Harewood, aged 103, also known as "Melverts", resident of St. Judes Nursing Home, Holders Hill, St. James; formerly of Stroud Land, St. Philip and Licorish Village, My Lord’s Hill, St. Michael entered peacefully into rest on the 9th September 2019. She was a long standing member of the Belmont Methodist Church and a member of the Women’s League.
Mother of the late Leslie Harewood formerly of the UK, Janice Edey née Harewood and Winston Harewood (Retired employee of B’dos Light & Power).
Grandmother of Kelvin, Doria, Marvine, Samantha Harewood (UK) Wayne, David, Raymond, Dwayne, Stefan Harewood and Carrie-Ann Latisha Todd.
Great grandmother of 13.
Great great grandmother of 6.
Mother-in-law of Gail Harewood.
Relative of the Alleyne family of Stroud Bay, St. Philip, the Watkins family of Brittons Hill, St. Michael and Laurie King (former Chief Education Officer) and family.
Friend of the Belmont Methodist Church family, The staff of St. Judes Nursing Home and many others.
The funeral of the late Melvy Urene Harewood leaves Tudor's Funeral Home, Ivy Main Road, St. Michael on Thursday, September 26th, 2019 at 2:00pm for the Belmont Methodist Church, My Lord’s Hill, St. Michael, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 3:00pm for the Service and Interment. The organist and members of the choir are kindly asked to attend. Flowers may be sent to Tudor's Funeral Home, no later than 1:45pm on Thursday. The body will repose in the chapel of Tudor’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 25th from 4:00pm until 6:00pm. Condolences to the family of the late Melvy Urene Harewood may be posted on line at www.tudorsfuneralhome.com.
